The Difference between Seismic Support and Traditional Support
Seismic support are similar in appearance to traditional supports, but their functions are vastly different. The seismic support system mainly bears the load in the horizontal direction of the pipeline. When a building encounters an earthquakes, the seismic force generated by pipelines and equipment is transmitted to the structure through the seismic support system to counteract the seismic force.
The difference between seismic support and traditional support

seismic support
1. Difference unctions
The traditional support system mainly relies on gravity as the load. The seismic support system mainly bears the load in the horizontal direction of the pipelines.
2. Different materials
Tranditional support are more prone to corrosion and rust, and generally require maintenance and painting after two or three years. The surface of seismic support system is galvanized, which has good corrosion resistance and less maintenance in the later stage.
3. Different design principles
Traditional load-bearing brackets only bear vertical loads, causing significant lateral sway during earthquakes, which can easily damage adjacent facilities and cause damage to building mechanical and electrical engineering systems, increasing the difficulty of later maintenance.
The seismic support system uses the stability principle during installation, comprehensively bearing the longitudinal and transverse forces during earthquakes, changing the dynamic characteristics of the pipeline system from flexible to rigid, making equipment and pipelines more secure and reducing secondary disasters caused by earthquakes.
